BLOODBORNE PATHOGENS
This training module is designed to provide a basic understanding of bloodborne pathogens, common modes of transmission, methods of prevention, and other pertinent information. ISD 622 is responsible for determining employees who are “reasonably anticipated,” as a result of performing their job duties, to be in contact with bloodborne pathogens.

The following employees are required to be trained within 90 days of their hire date and yearly throughout the duration of their employment with ISD 622:

  • Industrial Technology Teachers
  • Athletic Trainers
  • Level 4 Special Education Teachers
  • Building Supervisors
  • Lifeguards
  • Bus Drivers/Bus Monitors
  • MSMI Teachers
  • Custodian/Drivers
  • OTs, PTs, PTAs, COTAs
  • Custodians
  • Paraprofessionals (Child Care, Monitor, Special Ed)
  • Early Childhood Family Education
    (ECFE) Teachers
  • Physical Education Teachers
  • Early Childhood Special Education
    (ECSE) Teachers
  • Preschool Screeners
  • EBD (CREED) Teachers
  • Principals/Assistant Principals
  • Education Assistants
    (front office positions only)
  • Referees
  • Resource Teachers - FAN/CREED Locations only
  • Engineers
  • School Nurses
  • Food Service Staff

This program is designed to meet the requirements of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA’s) Bloodborne Pathogen Standard,
29 CFR 1910.1030

Directions:
  1. Read the training module and take the test on line:
    • Bloodborne Test (This should be completed by ISD 622 employees only. Outside entities that return completed tests will not receive test results.)

If you are an hourly-paid (time-sheeted) employee, please complete a timesheet (separate from your regular timesheet) documenting time spent completing this activity marked “Bloodborne Pathogens Training Module” and return it to Human Resources at the District Education Center.  Average time for completion is 30 minutes.
