916 student at John Glenn confirmed with H1N1
As we wrap up another wonderful school year, it is important to remember that there continue to be diagnosed cases of Influenza A within the State of Minnesota. Influenza A is a “family” of viruses that encompasses the seasonal flu virus as well as the H1N1 novel influenza virus (formally referred to as the Swine Flu). Although District 622 has yet to have a confirmed case of H1N1 novel influenza in our student population, the District was notified on June 9 of a positive diagnosis of Influenza A at Cowern Elementary School, which presented with mild symptoms and could be considered a suspect case of H1N1. In addition, on the last day of school a student in the NE Metro 916 Program at John Glenn was also confirmed with H1N1 Novel Influenza.
