District's second annual Data Retreat a success

District 622 held its second annual Data Retreat on August 12 and 13. This two day retreat focused on examining student achievement during the past 2007-2008 school year and determining student achievement goals for the upcoming 2008-2009 school year.

Site teams included building principals and identified teacher leaders representing their buildings.

District and site level student achievement scores were analyzed to determine specific areas of growth in student learning over time and specific areas for improvement.

Teams reflected on actions that led to an increase in student learning and how those actions could transfer to other academic areas needing improvement.

All site teams established site improvement goals and targets for the 2008-2009 school year.

These goals and measurable targets were shared with all building staff before the start of the school year. Specific actions and measures will be determined by sites and individual teams to support the site learning goals.

The Data Retreat process supports the alignment of our work with students at all levels throughout the district. Strategies for academic growth are shared within building teams, within school wide teams, and across the district.

Everyone in District 622 shares in the success and challenges of all our learners. Every child, at every school, is everyone's responsibility.
