bpa Tartan BPA Students Participate in
National Leadership Council

Twelve students from the Tartan Chapter of Business Professionals of America (BPA) attended the BPA National Leadership Conference in Orlando, FL May 8-12. This event was a culmination of a year of hard work at the regional and state level in order to advance to national level. Over 6,000 students, advisors and guests from throughout the United States participated in BPA’s 47th National Leadership Conference. Activities included general sessions with keynote speakers, business meetings, leadership workshops, contests, election of national officers, and tours of Orlando’s area sights and attractions! The highlight of the conference was the presentation of the awards to the winners of the national contests.

Tartan had an impressive showing this year, as Emily Phuong Le placed 2nd in Advanced Interview Skills, and Christie Her placed 14th in Advanced Office Systems and Procedures. The Tartan Chapter was also one of five schools in the Nation recognized for their BPA Cares-Community Relief project – written by Christie Her and Belinda Xiong, which described their participation with hosting Red Cross blood drives and their Pennies for Patients fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
