    Tartan High School has received the Gordy Klatt Number One Youth Power of Hope Award from the American Cancer Society.

    Fans show support for North-Tartan Adapted Soccer team

    On Thursday, Oct. 30, members of the Tartan and North high school communities came out to support of the North-Tartan Adapted Soccer Team. The team played a great game in front of their teachers, classmates, the Tartan band and Titan mascot, and won 6-3 over Johnson. The wide eyes and ear-to-ear grins on the students’ faces were an undeniable show of how much the support meant to the team.

  • Tartan High School earns high MMR score from Minn. Dept. of Education

    Schools collaborating with the state’s award-winning system of support continue to show improvement in closing achievement gaps and helping more students succeed, according to the Minnesota Department of Education. In addition to showing overall school performance, the 2014 Multiple Measurements Ratings (MMR) tell us which schools are beating the odds and making the most substantial improvement. This year, Tartan High School earned an MMR score of 87.35 percent, placing it in the top 10 percent of schools in the State of Minnesota.

    Congratulations to this year's Homecoming Court. The following students were selected as this year's Homecoming Royalty: Matthew Herzog and Erin Henehan (freshmen); Holden Todd and Bethany Lundquist (Sophomores); Jordan Thompson and Gabby Cartony (Juniors); and this year's King and Queen are Kellen Renstrom and Aylin Medina (Seniors). Welcome to Tartan High School


Tartan High School is a high quality public high school serving approximately 1,700 students in grades nine through twelve in Oakdale, Minnesota.  Our focus is to ensure exceptional learning experiences for all of our students inside the classroom and through participation in co-curricular activities. Our objectives in the end are to equip our students with the knowledge and skills to lead productive lives beyond high school.


Our academic program offers opportunities for students to complete college-level coursework and earn credit through our partnerships with the University of Minnesota, Inver Hills and Century Community Colleges.  In addition, students may choose from a variety of Advanced Placement courses sponsored by the College Board beginning their freshmen year. An incredible variety of courses in the fine arts, business, humanities, technology, and world languages are also available.


Tartan High School considers the co-curricular program an important part of the high school experience and offers thirty different sports and thirty-seven other activities.  Within each athletic program there are various levels of competition yielding greater student participation rates. There is also an incredible range of student activities available to appeal to a variety of student interests.
