Welcome! Thank you for visiting my page.
Just a little bit about me--I was born and raised in St. Paul, MN. I am from a large family--seven brothers and sisters. Being in a classroom with many students doesn't phase me! I am a graduate of Johnson High School and a true "East Sider". I attended the University of Minnesota where I received a Bachelor of Science in Education.
I began my teaching career as a first-grade teacher. Years later I received my certification in Reading Recovery (Reading Specialist) from Hamline University and began working at Carver school as a Reading Recovery teacher. A few years later I returned to the classroom as an All-Day kindergarten teacher and I continue to enjoy every minute of my time with my "kinder kids".
I am married and my husband Dan and I have three children. The oldest is our daughter Stephanie, she graduated from Hamline Law School, is married, and practices law in Minneapolis. Our sons Bobby and Tommy are both bio-medical technicians and live in the Twin Cities. Our children are proud graduates of Carver school and they love to come and visit or volunteer in my classroom.
When I am not at school, I love to relax at home with my family. I am a huge Minnesota Twins fan and a dedicated U of M Gopher fan, and try to get to a few games each year. Reading is one of my favorite activities--I read just about every night. There is nothing like a great bedtime story!!!
I am honored to be your child's teacher. I know that you are entrusting me with your greatest treasure and I will dedicate my time and energy to ensure that your child receives the very best learning opportunities. Please call me, email me, or stop by school anytime with questions, concerns, or just to chat about your child. Together, we can help your child develop a love for learning!
