Greetings Cowern Families & Friends,

My name is Cherise Ayers, and I am honored to serve as your interim principal. I am a career educator with 13 years of middle and high school classroom experience and 5 years of administrative experience in both elementary and secondary schools. I was born and raised in St. Paul, but I have also spent significant time in the Atlanta area. I’ve been back in the Twin Cities for 9 years, the last of which I’ve spent serving our district as the Supervisor of Equity. I am married to another principal (a whole family of educators!), and we share three children ages 10, 13, and 16. In my spare time, I like to relax with my family, watch really good television, read, and listen to podcasts. I am also a student myself, working on my PhD at the University of Minnesota.

I have spent my first week getting to know the staff and students at this amazing school, and I am excited to share some awesome learning adventures with you all this year!
