I am excited for the 2021-22 school year! Every school year brings another year of excitement, learning, and growing. Every school day brings another day of seeing bright smiling faces ready to learn.  I thank you for every effort you have made to support your child and to help us continue the loving community we have at Weaver.  We are honored to be your child's school. Our teachers and staff are ready to learn and lead together with you.

 

 

Here at Weaver, we care about raising well-rounded learners.  We know that learning is a process and caring is a necessity.  We are committed to growing your child in all areas from academics to social to emotional.  This year, we are continuing our journey as one of The Leader in Me schools.  This is an exciting journey for us because we are now a Leader in Me Lighthouse School, which means we will be a beacon for other schools because we are showing that our framework of leadership, culture, and academics are done well.  We will get to see our students shine in many areas beyond academics.  The Leader in Me is a framework we use to establish effective practices within school academics, culture, and leadership.  Students have many opportunities to learn about the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and how they can apply these leadership principles throughout their lives.  We are confident our students are going to grow and learn in ways that will help them beyond their years here at Weaver.  You can learn more by going to the Leader in Me at Weaver page.

I feel honored to be at Weaver as the interim principal. I am proud to call 622 home for twenty-five years as a classroom teacher, literacy coach, and instructional coach.

I consider myself a life-long learner.  I continue to learn every day by reading, discussing, and listening to others.  I especially LOVE learning from students!

After elementary, middle school, and high school in Burnsville, MN here are other places I went to learn:

• University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire - Earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education and Special Education
• University of Minnesota - Earned a Masters in Educational Leadership
• University of Minnesota - Earned Administrative License

And still learning... 

I enjoy many things about working at Weaver but when I am not at Weaver, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two sons Tyler and Caden that are both in high school.  My husband Jeff and I spend many nights watching our sons play hockey and baseball. We also enjoy time outside and traveling together as a family to Florida and enjoying baseball fields across the United States.

 

I also enjoy reading, running, golfing, and dinners out with family and friends. I hope I get a chance to meet you and get to know you a bit more so we can talk about the things that bring us joy.
