    Educational Equity

    Recognizing both historical and modern disenfranchisement of specific people groups,
    educational equity seeks to provide the necessary; tools, resources and supports to ensure
    equal access, with the goal of achieving equal outcomes. 


    The customary beliefs, social forms, and material traits of a group connected via;
    age, gender, religious, class, nationality, orientation and ethnicity
    rings of culture

    Culturally Responsive Schools and District

    A school/district that is just as invested in the home; language, experiences, knowledge, and culture of our students as we are in the content we teach. 


    A social construct that categories people together by the color of their skin or region of origin. Race is not based in biology or science. 


    A system of oppression that grants one group the power to carry out systematic discrimination through institutional policies and practices, while also shaping that areas cultural beliefs and values in the direction, and for the benefit of the dominant racial group.  


    a. The growth mindset is based on the belief that your basic qualities are things you can cultivate through your efforts.
    b. The fixed mindset is the belief that your qualities are carved in stone (Dweck, 2007)
