• Bloodborne Pathogens

ISD 622 is responsible for determining employees who are “reasonably anticipated,” as a result of performing their job duties, to be in contact with bloodborne pathogens.  Employees in positions that have contact with students are required to be trained within the first 30 days of employment and each year thereafter, throughout the duration of their employment with ISD 622.  This program is designed to meet the requirements of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA’s) Bloodborne Pathogen Standard, 29 CFR 1910.1030

    Directions:
This training module is designed to provide a basic understanding of bloodborne pathogens, common modes of transmission, methods of prevention, and other pertinent information.
    • Read the training module:  Bloodborne Module
    • Take the test online:  Bloodborne Test (This should be completed by ISD 622 employees only. Outside entities that return completed tests will not receive test results.)

If you are unable to read or print the above items, please contact Human Resources at 651-748-7420 or bloodborne@isd622.org.

If you are an hourly-paid (time-sheeted) employee, please complete a timesheet (separate from your regular timesheet) documenting time spent completing this activity marked “Bloodborne Pathogens Training Module” and return it to Human Resources at the District Education Center. The average time for completion is 30 minutes. This is paid once annually each school year.

Bloodborne Pathogens Training is required for any employee in a student contact position.
