FUSION DRUMLINE!
The Fusion Drumline is an enjoyable extra-curricular activity for students in grades 7-12 in ISD 622. We are a percussion group that performs inside during the winter months. Our show is a combination of marching, acting and musical performances. Instruments played include snare, tenor, and bass drums; mallet instruments such as marimbas, xylophones, and vibraphones; electric and bass guitar, cymbals and other percussion instruments. We compete in the MPA (Minnesota Percussion Association) sanctioned events, as well as playing at some school events.
Drumline assessments are held in September. These assessments are used to determine what instruments each member will play (prior experience is not required). Rehearsals begin in October. They are held each Tuesday and Thursday evening with some Saturday rehearsals beginning in November. The competition season generally runs from February to early April. Parents/guardians of drumline members are a part of the Drumline Parent Booster Organization, which raises most of the operating money. Contact your school's band director for information on becoming a member or contact the Fusion Drumline Director John Povolny jpovolny@isd622.org
