    Mission Statement:

    Our mission for BSU is to create a safe space for black students, and anyone interested in learning about the African American community. We are a group that sponsors and promotes cultural and social events, provides leadership opportunities, community outreach, student empowerment and holds a space for African American students to have a voice. 

    We embrace unity, love, diversity and our cultural heritage. Our members are goal-driven leaders who actively seek out ways to make an impact on their community through volunteering and participating in social causes.    

    To fulfill our mission, BSU is committed to the following core Values:

    • Be a voice for the larger student body

    • Share input and ideas for school-wide events 

    • Facilitate student group discussions

    • Serve our community through volunteering

    • Create lifelong learning opportunities
