2024-2025 School Year - August 2024
Dear 622 families,
Welcome to the 24-25 school year. We are starting some grades on different days this year to provide a smooth transition for incoming 6th and 9th grade students. This day will provide an orientation to welcome them to their new schools without older students in the building. Kindergarteners will have a different start date as well (see below).
Sept 3 - Grades 1-6, Grade 9
Sept 4 - Grades 7-8 and10-12 and Webster K-12
Sept 5 - Kindergarten
Sept 10 - ECSE and Pre-K
To the left is a summary of student-related policies. Please review these behavior expectations with your student before school begins. We expect a few policies to be approved
at the August school board meeting. These policies will be shared with families. To view the entire 622 Student & Family Handbook, use the QR code or visit the Back-to-School webpage.
Remember, we offer all students free breakfast and lunch every school day. However, additional meals, ala carte items, and milk for bag lunches require payment.
Be sure to watch for additional beginning-of-the-year information from your child's principal. Thank you for your support of District 622.
District 622 Student Responsibility Policies
All students have the right to an education, the right to learn, the right to due process under
law, and shall be afforded all rights provided under federal and state law. Students also have certain responsibilities that contribute to the quality of their educational experience. The Student Responsibilities Policies cover the expectations for student behavior, how we conduct ourselves in school and how we treat one another. We hope the adults in our students' lives will instill these same expectations and model the behaviors we expect our students to use. If you have any questions, please visit the district website at isd622.org/about/policies to see the rationale and full policy documents or contact your school administration.

Application for Educational Benefits can reduce fees Breakfast and lunch are free for all students
in Minnesota. However, students must pay if they want an additional entree, milk for bagged lunches, or anything from the ala carte menu.
Even though meals are free for all students, we encourage families to complete the Application for Educational Benefits to receive reduced fees and discounts. Use the QR code to fill out the meal application on LINQ Connect.
622 receives important funding for student programs based on the number of forms completed, so please fill out the application even if you don't think you'll qualify. There are discounts for those who qualify, including reduced fees for athletics and activities, swimming lessons, driver training, and community education courses, in addition to other discounts.
