School District 622’s Crowdfunding Procedures allow staff to raise funds for projects through platforms like GiveMN, DonorsChoose, and GoFundMe, provided they follow district guidelines. Staff must first gain supervisor approval and submit a Crowdfunding Request Form. Projects must align with district goals, avoid ongoing financial commitments, and not conflict with current programs. 

All grants—large or small, public or private, district-wide or school-level—must come through the Grants and Special Projects department before an application is submitted. If you plan to apply for a grant, notify the department by filling out the Grant Authorization Form. When you win a grant, the Grants and Special Projects department will set up the budget and initiate the project with you.

The 622 Education Foundation is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that is completely independent of the school district. The Foundation is a volunteer-based organization with members from all aspects of the community, including alumni, teachers, social workers, business owners, public officials, and school staff.  The mission of the organization is to generate and distribute resources to ISD 622 schools to create, enrich and expand programs that enhance the quality of education.

The Foundation’s GrantEd program provides monetary awards to encourage, facilitate, and enhance educational opportunities for 622 students.  Up to 15 $500 grants will be given for the 2024-2025 school year! All 622 staff are eligible to apply. The 622 Education Foundation is partnering up with Friends of Maplewood Nature this year for those projects that support and improve the environment and/or students’ experiences in nature. This is yet another way that the 622 Education Foundation works to improve our district and the lives of our students and staff.
