On November 4, District 622 voters will be asked to increase the operating levy and consider a capital projects levy, dedicated funding the district hasn’t had before.District 622 has not asked for an increase to its operating levy in ten years

Question 1 - Increase to the operating levy

Q: The ballot question is very confusing. What Does This Mean for Taxpayers? 

A: Yes, it is confusing. The language below shows the legal ballot language required by state law.  A homeowner of a $300,000 house will pay about $22 more per month

  • Question 1, which is called "revoke and replace", asks voters to cancel (revoke) the existing operating levy and replace it with a new dollar amount.
  • The school district receives = $1,019 for each student. If Question 1 passes, the district will receive $946 more for each student ($1,965 - $1,019 = $946).
