School Board Candidate Information
Running for School Board

School Board Filing Information
The candidate filing period begins at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 14 and ends at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28.
- Filing Fee: $2.00 (non-refundable)
- Withdrawal Deadline: Candidates may withdraw their candidacy until 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 30.
Filing Requirements
When submitting filing paperwork, candidates must provide:
- Proof of identity
- Proof of residence
A current driver's license will satisfy both requirements if the address on the license is current. If the address is not current, candidates may provide a utility bill, bank statement, or another acceptable document showing their current address, as long as it is dated within the past 30 days.

Candidates may file at either of the following locations:
- District Education Center
- Ramsey County Elections Office (90 Plato Blvd. W., Suite 160, St. Paul, MN 55107)

Voting FAQ's
In Minnesota, voting for the November 3, 2026, General Election starts on September 18, 2026. To be eligible to vote, a person must be 18 or older by Election Day, a U.S. citizen, a resident of Minnesota for at least 20 days, not currently incarcerated for a felony conviction, and not under a court order that revokes your right to vote. If you are eligible to vote, you can register to vote at mnvotes.gov/register.
