• Information regarding  Adaptive sports-

    Soccer

Adaptive Soccer starts right away at the beginning of the year!  That is the Fall Adaptive Sport.  Most of our practices and home games are at North with the exception of maybe one or two will be at Tartan.  Practice will start right after school at 3:00 and go until 4:00.  Games begin at 4:30 and run approximately an hour.  At North we play in the little gym.   Soccer is a CI sport here at Tartan.  We currently don’t have enough players to create a PI team.

    Floor Hockey

Adapted Floor Hockey was new to us two years ago, but the students had a blast.  Again floor hockey is a CI sport for the same reason as Soccer.  The Coach is Andy Navis and I will be assisting him along with Trudy McQuiston from North. Practices and home games run the same way as soccer does. Floor hockey practice will start in December sometime and games will start, the middle of January.

    Bowling

Adapted Bowling starts in March. Usually after Spring Break and right after Adapted Floor Hockey ends. We bowl at Sunray Lanes. We are bused to Sunray lanes two times a week for practice.  Bowling is both CI and PI sport.  We have a final tournament at the end of the season.  The tournament is held at  Brunswick Bowl in Brooklyn Park.  It is a big tournament and lasts all day (7am-6pm)

We are changing our award ceremonies a little this year.  We will have a parent’s night during soccer and floor hockey, but then we will have a big award ceremony at the end of the year (after the bowling tournament).  At this time we will give out awards for all three sports.  If your athlete is not in bowling but participated in one of the others they will receive an invitation to come bowl and enjoy in the celebration.

Are biggest goal in any sport is for everyone to have fun and be safe.

Registration is all done online.  http://isd622.feepay.com there are step by step instructions.  You can also go to the Tartan website under Athletics for up to date calendar of events for the week.
