HELLO! Welcome to my Tartan Welcome Page!
A little bit about me: I have been teaching at Tartan High School since September 1993; Tartan is the only school where I have taught - a fact I am very proud to share! In my time at Tartan, I have taught nearly all social studies classes at some time in my teaching career, including careers and leadership.
I received my B.A. and teaching certification at the University of Minnesota - Morris in 1992 and my M.A.Ed. from Hamline University in 2001. I recently completed my Master's equivalency in American Government through Minnesota State University Moorhead; which now makes me compliant with the Federal Higher Learning Commission to continue teaching College-in-the-Schools.
I am originally from the little, central/rural town of Royalton, Minnesota (Treasure City); there were 41 kids total in my high school graduating class. However, I have resided in the Twin Cities since 1992 and I enjoy spending time boating with my husband and hanging out with my three adult children and two dogs; there is a cat too, but she & I have a mutual dislike of each other.
The Sesame Street hands picture represents how I feel about humanity and equity. I want my classroom to be one of safety, equality and inclusion for everyone.
The picture with the purple and gold flag was taken on August 18, 2020. I was celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment - Voting rights for women.
The picture with my children was taken on the St. Croix River on one of our excursions.
