Welcome to my teacher page! I'm originally from New Ulm, MN, and graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in 2002 with a degree in Spanish and minors in English and Latin American Studies. During my time at Gustavus, I spent my Junior year studying abroad at La Universidad de Salamanca in Salamanca, Spain. After graduating from Gustavus, I immediately pursued my master's degree at Minnesota State University Mankato and earned my Masters of Arts in Teaching: EL and Spanish in 2004. Tartan was my first teaching job and I have been here since 2004! I have taught every level of Spanish from Spanish I to CIS (College in the Schools) Spanish and have also taught EL Resource and Language Arts classes as well as co-taught Biology and Earth/Physical Science. This year, I am teaching Spanish 1 and Spanish 3. During my free time, I enjoy jogging, hiking, kayaking, reading, watching Spanish TV shows on Netflix, playing volleyball, trying new restaurants with my husband, and traveling. I live in Saint Paul with my husband Dan, my daughter Yaiza (a freshman at La Salle University in Philadelphia), and the best dog on the planet, our black lab-mix Zenyatta.
