Berit is from Minnesota and Skied growing up, competing on the Mahtomedi High School Ski team from 2001-2006. During her college years, she taught Nordic skiing classes through the outdoor club at Lewis and Clark College. In 2012, she spent a winter working as a dog handler for a professional musher in Alaska, where she ran sled dogs and learned to skijor (skate skiing with a team of two dogs). Berit has a passion for everything outdoors and spent five summers guiding canoe trips at YMCA Camp Menogyn. Her last summer at Menogyn she led a 50-day canoe trip with 5 young women in Nunavut, Canada. This will be Berit's first year coaching at North and she is looking forward to a great season sharing her love for Minnesota winters and Nordic skiing.
(Hopefully with more consistent snow than last year!)
