There is a lot going on in our world right now and it can feel hard at times with all the uncertainty! Going into this school year is no different, there's still a lot of uncertainty. Yet, I'm looking forward to another great year here at John Glenn as a 6th grade ELA teacher and Instructional Coach, in whatever form learning takes this year! Being back at school, even from a distance, will help create a sense of normalcy.
Just to give you a little background on me--- I graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a double major in Elementary Education and German, and received a master's degree in Teaching and Learning with a concentration in Reading Instruction from Saint Mary's University. I worked for 12 years at Valley Crossing Community School, in Woodbury, MN teaching 4th, 5th, and 6th-grade students in a multi-age setting. I then went on to work at Weaver Elementary, right here in District 622 for 5 years, as a Literacy Specialist and then Instructional Coach. I'm excited for the new school year, working with 6th-grade students in the area of Literacy and continuing our Literacy Professional Development for 6th -8th grade ILA teachers.
