Hello and welcome to Ms. Wangen's web page!
First, let me introduce myself. I was born and raised in White Bear Lake, MN where I went to school and graduated. I then went to Winona State for two years before finishing up my degree at Minnesota State Universty, Mankato with Psychology and Corrections. I have a history working in a hospital, with at-risk youth as well as case-managing kiddos with multiple behavioral and mental health diagnosis. I have a huge passion for working with middle-school aged kids and helping them grow to their own potentials.
Here at Skyview Middle School, I teach reading, math, life skills, organizational skills, and social skills in our Special Education Department as well as case manage some other students in our program. I strongly believe that every child learns at different levels and in different ways and therefore it allows for mistakes to learn from and also grow. I will always work with students to do their best as well as help them achieve the goals that they set for themselves. I do not believe in failure if you at least try and do your best with full effort.
My main goal is to support students and their families because I know that there is more than kids and families go through besides education. I always have an open door to welcome all students to help them and provide resources for families because there is a lot out there. Please reach out if you ever have any questions. Thank you for being awesome students and parents.
I look forward to working with your child and your families throughout the 2019-2020 school year!
