Mrs. Sheila Skaff will be guiding your child on an adventure of knowledge. I believe that learning comes through past experiences of successes and mistakes. We need to take chances, challenge ourselves to grow, take responsibility for our actions, and fix our mistakes in a way that best makes sense. This is what I hope to inspire in your child this year.
I am ecstatic about starting this school year! This will be my 8th year teaching Kindergarten! I have taught for the past 13 years at a number of schools and grades in both ISD 622 and South Washington District. This is my 10th year at Carver and by far my favorite place to be.
Besides teaching, my passions include dancing, art, and organizing. I have taught dance and spent many summers coordinating park and recreation playground programs as well as designing and teaching art, drawing and theater classes in Lino Lakes, MN. My favorite season is autumn, except for the shortening of daylight hours! I love Chinese food and the color PURPLE!
Spring of 2015 I received my Masters in Education from Concordia University. For undergraduate school, I attended St. Olaf College where I majored in education and dance and minored in mathematics. Even with all the schooling, I know my job of learning is never done when it comes to teaching your gems.
Last Fall, my husband and I purchased a home in Cottage Grove. We have spent most of our free time fixing it up and making it our own.
If you ever have a question or concern please e-mail, write a note, call, or stop by to see me. I want you to feel comfortable coming to me with anything. I know we both have your child’s best interest in mind and want to give them the best education possible. One of the best ways to do so is to communicate! I look forward to working with you!
