Welcome to Kindergarten at Castle Elementary! I am excited to be a part of your first year of school. We are going to spend time learning about ourselves, our new friends, and our community. My main goal in Kindergarten is to teach your student to LOVE learning and school!
I first received my Elementary Education degree from the University of Iowa then went to work in Robbinsdale, teaching half day kindergarten and working with special ed students in the before and after school program. From there, I found a love for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders and went back to get my Masters in Special Education at the University of St Thomas. For six years I taught at Castle in the center-based Autism program. Though I love working with small groups of students in our Autism program, I miss the mainstream classroom of kindergarteners who are so excited to learn and start their school journey.
In my time away from school I enjoy golfing, skiing, snowmobiling, travel, and spending time with my family. Last winter, my husband and I welcomed our son, Max, to the world. He has been a fun addition to our world and I love sharing stories about "Baby Max" with my class.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me by email or by phone. We are a team and I would love to hear if you have any great insights about your child or how to best help them!
I look forward to an outstanding year!
