    Second Grade Families,

I am pleased to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you and to welcome your child!  As always the start of a school year holds the promise of new discovery and learning as well as the prospect of personal growth in all areas.

My inspiration for wanting to be a teacher started when I was in second grade thanks to my teacher, Mrs. Mucciacciaro. I feel so lucky to be living a lifelong dream! I have an Elementary Education Degree from Minnesota State University and a Masters Degree from St. Mary's University. This is my 25th year teaching, yet my sixth year at Eagle Point. I am thrilled to be part of such an awesome learning community!
When I am not at school I enjoy reading, kayaking, going on long walks and spending time with my family. My favorite foods are my mom's stew and dumplings, tacos, and Caribou coffee. :)  Even though I live in Hudson, Wisconsin I am a big time Vikings fan-GO VIKES!!
My philosophy of education within my classroom:
    I believe a child's self-esteem should be nurtured.
I want all children to enjoy the learning process, and I want to help them to develop their own motivation for learning.  I hope to do my best to encourage your child to succeed in their attempts to learn.
I believe modeling is the most powerful way to affect a child's learning.  A good learning experience is built on a cooperative effort among the parent, child, and teacher.  I look forward to the work and the growth we will all accomplish this year. Onto a super fantabulous school year!!!!!
