Ahlan Wa Sahlan!"There are many languages spoken by students and family at John Glenn middle school which makes me feel at home! I so enjoy working with students from diverse backgrounds and teach them the tools they need to communicate in a more global society." Mrs. BIn our classroom, students will start learning language structures, and vocabulary through interactive dialogs and fun activities done in class. As they gain more confidence, they will practice basic conversation among peers. When ready, and at their own pace, they will be able to choose from a solid collection of readers, ranging from easy to more challenging leveled books. Besides deepening their reading skills, they will naturally practice writing in the foreign language of their choice. Material will vary from anecdotal stories about our school, stories by students, but also authentic texts such as biographies, news article, social studies and science information, comic strips, and websites. At home, students will review their structures and vocabulary or practice conversation with family members, friends, and native speakers. From time to time, have them read and translate to you and you will be likely to smile :-)Malika Benachour
