Getting involved with athletics at Maplewood Middle School is a great way to meet friends, keep busy, stay healthy, and become a well-rounded young adult.

***HealthPartners and District 622 are hosting FREE pre-participation exams (PPEs) on Friday, July 23, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and Thursday, July 29, from 10:00 to 6:00 p.m.. at the Well@Work clinic. Boys and Girls Swimming and Diving and Girls Gymnastics are available to students in grades 7-8. Students can be part of North or Tartan team depending on where they are attending high school. Tartan Dance Team's free Fall pom and hip-hop dance season is open to girls in 7th-12th grade. Tartan Dance Team Winter Season is a competitive athletic team open to girls in 7th-12th grade. Contact the activities office at Tartan High (651) 748-8620 for more information.

WHAT IS NECESSARY FOR MY CHILD TO PARTICIPATE?All participants MUST have a current physical on file at Maplewood Middle School. No student may practice/play without a current physical. Physicals are good for three years. Sports physical forms can be picked up at the main office or downloaded at the top of the page. Registration form and fees must be paid before a student may participate. Arrangements can be made for those needing financial assistance and also for those students who receive free/reduced lunch.

WHEN ARE PRACTICES? WHO DO THEY PLAY AND WHEN?
Practices run from 2:25 until 4:00 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Athletic events/practices are not held on Wednesdays.
Activity buses run on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 4:00.
Coaches will give out a schedule of practice dates/times and game dates the first week of practice. Games usually begin at 3:30 or 3:45 p.m depending on the sport. We are aligned with the high schools in the district and are part of the Classic Suburban Conference.
ARE UNIFORMS PROVIDED?
All equipment and uniforms, with the exception of softball/baseball gloves and athletic shoes, are supplied by the school. Students will be responsible for the return of all equipment issued by the end of the season. Failure to return equipment/uniform will result in charges for reimbursement and loss of rights to participate in the middle school sports program.
HOW AND WHEN CAN I REGISTER?Early registration for Fall sports can be done by completing the online registration form with payment through Affinity. Registration and information will also be available during back to school night. Remember, registration fees and a current physical are required before a student is eligible to participate.
