Budget: Allocation of federal funds

A Schoolwide Program is a comprehensive school improvement effort designed to elevate the entire educational program of a Title I school. The Schoolwide Program option is based on the premise that comprehensive reform strategies—rather than separate, add-on services—are most effective in raising the achievement level of students most at risk of not meeting academic standards. Multiple resources, including Title I funds, are used to strengthen the academic program in the school for all students and accelerate the progress of students

Question to answer and have evidence for:
How does your school use Title I funds and any other funds used to improve the school program and student outcomes?
There are multiple funding sources, such as general, staff development, and federal and state aid funds, that are used to strengthen our schools academic program and accelerate the learning progress of all learners. This year at Carver, we are putting an emphasis on student attendance.

Our plan focuses on the use of student data to monitor progress and make instructional changes in both reading and math. Along with using data to monitor progress, we are also being intentional to place students (at all levels) in correct WIN groups. We will use technology to help differentiate and meet each individual student's need during our targeted time in both reading and math.

In order to increase our ability to support social emotional growth we will have all staff teaching skills and dedicated staff to support individual students' needs. We will also give students a survey so we can see how our students feel about being at Carver. All staff will deliver social emotional lessons each week. In addition staff will provide individual instruction and support including reteaching, push in support, breaks and data tracking.
We believe in elevating teachers' voices and expertise in all areas. This year our focus is on math instruction. Carver elementary is partnering with Elementary Math Content Specialist to plan out intentional math PD. To plan PD that meets the needs of Carver staff, all staff took a Math Expressions 18 Look For Self-Reflection. This self-reflection looks at all components of the math curriculum and asks teachers to rate their level of understanding. In April, our goal would be to run an "EdCamp" type staff meeting where staff can choose to lead a group and share their successes.

Carver will also have the following family nights: Literacy, Math, and Science. The focus for each of these family nights is to provide families and caregivers access to learn about what students are learning. This will help strengthen the home to school connection.

We know that partnership between all interest groups is essential to students' success. We will have events across the year to improve partnerships to increase student growth in all areas.
