    Do you offer scholarships or financial assistance? 

    Financial assistance is available to participants who qualify. Please call 651-748-7442 for more information. 


    Can I register my child for a swim class if they do not meet the minimum age requirement? 

    Yes, you can register your child if they do not meet a level's minimum age requirement and their instructor recommends that they move to that level or by calling our office for approval. Please call 651-748-7442. 



    I have two children. Can I attend a parent/tot class with both of them? 

    No, you can only attend with one child at a time. Each child must be paired with an adult at all times during class. 



    My child has experience in the water but has not taken lessons. Which level should they start in? 

    Please call our office at 651-748-7442 and our staff will help you determine which level is right for them. Our instructors will assess their skills at the first lesson. If the level chosen is not right for them we will move them to the level that is.



    What should my child bring to swim lessons? 
     
    • All children must wear a swimsuit or swim trunks. 
    • Children who are not toilet trained must wear a swim diaper or tightly fit rubber pants
    • Towel
    • Flip flops or water shoes to wear on deck (optional)
    • Swim goggles (Optional. If you choose to bring swim goggles the goggles that fit close to the eyes are preferred. Please do not bring snorkel masks.)


    What type of changing facilities are available? 

    • All of our pools have boys and girls locker rooms. Children over 6 years old must change in the gender-appropriate locker room.
    • Lockers are available. Please bring a lock to secure your valuables when using a locker.
    • Skyview Community School has a family locker room with individual changing rooms in addition to the two locker rooms.
    • Maplewood Middle School does not have additional changing rooms but there are stalls available in the restrooms for private changing.


    Tell me more about semi-private and private lessons. 


    Private Lessons: 
    Lessons are 30 minutes long. The student works one-to-one with an instructor. The instructor will customize a plan to help the student meet their goals.


    Semi-Private Lessons (You must register 2 or 3 students together at the same time): Lessons are 30 minutes long. Two or three students who are at similar skill levels work with an instructor. The instructor will customize a plan to help students meet their goals.


    What was the last swim level my child was in or completed?

    Please call 651-748-7442 or submit an online request and we will look up the information for you.


    What are your cancellation and refund policies?

    You can cancel your registration up to two business days before the start of class. Call 651-748-7442 or submit an online cancellation to cancel your registration and request a refund. A $5 processing fee for each registration canceled will be deducted from your refund. Refunds will be issued in the same form of payment as was originally used for registration or you may request a credit to be used for another aquatic class.
     
    Refund requests received less than two business days before the start of class are subject to approval. No refund will be issued after the class has started.  


    Can I move my child from the class they are registered in to a different class at the same level? 

    Yes, as long as there are openings in the class you want to move to. You will be responsible to pay the cost difference if the new class has a higher rate. Community Education will refund your account if the new class has a lower rate. If you would like to move your child to a different class call 651-748-7442 or submit an online request. You must know the day, time or class number of the class you want to move them into to submit an online request. 



    My child passed after I registered him for this session. Can I move them to the new level?

    Yes, as long as there are openings in the class you want to move to. You will be responsible to pay the cost difference if the new class has a higher rate. Community Education will refund your account if the new class has a lower rate. If you would like to move your child to a different class call 651-748-7442 or submit an online request. You must know the day, time or class number of the class you want to move them into to submit an online request. 


    My child has sports practice at the same time as swim lessons. Can I move them or get a refund?
     
    Yes, as long as there are openings in the class you want to move to. You will be responsible to pay the cost difference if the new class has a higher rate. Community Education will refund your account if the new class has a lower rate. If you would like to move your child to a different class call 651-748-7442 or submit an online request. You must know the day, time or class number of the class you want to move them into to submit an online request. 

    We can issue a refund minus a $5 processing fee if you withdraw from the class at least two days before the start date. Unfortunately, we are unable to issue a refund once the class has started.
