2020-21 District 622 calendar approved

Dear 622 Families and Staff,

The calendar for the 2020-2021 school year was approved at the November 19 school board meeting. School will start before Labor Day in the Fall of 2020.

After gathering feedback from various stakeholders in the district, the calendar committee, made up of teachers and administrators, recommended the pre-Labor Day start.

For the 2020-2021 school year, the first day of school will be as follows:

Monday, August 31: First day for Grades 1-12

Tuesday, September 1: First day for Kindergarten

Tuesday, September 8: First day for Preschool

The calendar committee recommends starting school before Labor Day because it provides more time to prepare for testing, such as the ACT, AP tests, and MCA tests. The committee also felt that students are better able to focus earlier in the year.

Sincerely,
