The Minnesota Legislature recently passed a bill to provide universal free school meals for all students, regardless of household income. The new program will begin in the upcoming 2023-24 school year. 

In the meantime, families that currently do not qualify for free or reduced meals must continue to pay for school meals for the remainder of the 2022-2023 school year.
