Superintendent's Message - Friday, July 31

Dear 622 Families,

Recently, Governor Tim Walz, along with state education and health leaders, announced that each Minnesota school district will decide how to open schools, based on county-level public health data and the needs of the local community. As you recall, all Minnesota districts were asked to prepare for three possible learning scenarios.

  1. In-person (students back in school)
  2. Hybrid (a combination of in-person learning at school and distance learning at home)
  3. Distance learning (full-time learning from home)

Last week, we asked 622 families to share their thoughts on fall planning options. Here is a link to view the survey results.

Regardless of which scenario we use to reopen our schools, please know that you will have the option to keep your child at home. If you choose this option, we will continue to provide distance learning instruction for your child, as long as this COVID-19 pandemic continues.

Right now, we are working hard to be ready for the 2020-2021 school year. Next week, you will receive an additional survey that will help us to finalize our instructional plan for the fall.  We will then share the details of our new back-to-school plan with the public on Monday, August 10. Please look for regular updates at
