Schoology Information for Parents and Students

April 1, 2020

Dear 622 Families,

We want to take a quick moment to clarify two common Schoology questions.

Q: How do my students and I access Schoology?

  • Please make sure your student is accessing Schoology with their student account.  Students use their district-issued email to access Schoology with a special link (http://isd622.schoology.com). The student account is different from the parent account. Parents have a separate login link. Please visit www.isd622.org/distancelearning to view the Schoology help guides.

  1. What do the grayed-out sections mean?
  • If you see a grayed-out section, the teacher may have set up a completion rule. This will require the student to view an item or complete an assignment before they can move on to the next item in the folder. Many sections are grayed-out until the student completes the required section.
    • A visual cue: A student progress bar at the top or a grayed out “Must Complete” underneath the folder will indicate that a completion rule is in place.
    • The folder or item has met the completion rule when you see the “Must Complete” turn green.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work through the first few days of distance learning together.

March 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians,

The North St. Paul – Maplewood – Oakdale School District is excited to integrate Schoology in grades 6-8. Schoology is a learning management system that provides course management, mobile learning, and support for system-wide communication. Schoology enables our students, parents, and teachers to engage with learning materials and their school community from inside and outside of the classroom.

With Schoology, students can digitally submit homework assignments, review grades, participate in interactive discussions, receive announcements and feedback, take tests, and more. As a parent, you will be able to view your child’s activity within the platform.

We value your participation in your child’s education, and we encourage you to read Schoology’s Privacy Policy & Terms of Use at https://www.schoology.com/privacy.

In the coming days, you will receive an automated email from Schoology with login credentials. If you already have a student at North or Tartan HS, you will use the same credentials.

Please visit https://www.isd622.org/distancelearning for more information on how to access and use the Schoology Learning Management system.

Our original intent was to launch Schoology this coming fall, but with districts preparing for distance learning, we are implementing at this time.

Sincerely,

Josh Anderson
