Description: The service helps pay home heating costs and furnace repairs for income-qualified households. Services can include: payment of energy bills; help with utility disconnections or necessary fuel deliveries; providing an education on efficient and safe use of home heating energy; advocacy with energy suppliers and human service providers on behalf of consumers; repair or replacement of homeowners' malfunctioning heating systems.

Who is Eligible: Available for renters or homeowners and is for households with income at or below 50 percent of the state median income ($23,354 for one person). It is based on household size, income, fuel type and energy usage.

Application Process: Complete the Minnesota Energy Programs Application and send it to your local Energy Assistance Provider. It should be sent with a copy of proof of income received in the last 3 full calendar months for each household member; a copy of your last heating bill and your last electric bill; and a copy of your last fuel receipt if you use delivered fuel for heating.
